After a decade being immersed in Limerick’s vibrant music scene, Laura Duff has steadily honed her affecting songwriting with the upcoming release of her intimate and introspective debut album, Sea Legs. Navigating grief and celebrating the people and places that have shaped her to this point, Duff’s astute lyrics are immensely impactful in how she distills her experiences into songs.
Collaborating extensively with her esteemed band featuring JJ Lee (bass), Christopher O’Sullivan (drums) and Mícheál Keating (guitar), they have truly found their sound on Sea Legs, drawing from influences such as Big Thief, Ben Howard and Daughter, to create their own enveloping strand of folk inflected rock arrangements.
Duff and her band have enjoyed a busy few years with the release of two critically acclaimed EPs and opening for several revered artists such as Nina Persson & James Yorkston, Lisa O’Neill and Arab Strap and being selected to perform at Ireland Music Week. Sea Legs is due for release on May 23rd.
